Peter Andre backs freezer food campaign

Pop star Peter Andre is backing a campaign to increase awareness of a hidden ‘food fortune’ amid reports Brits have $3.8 billion worth of meals stored at home.
Research shows the average U.K. household has $75 (£50) of food per resident sitting in the freezer, and frozen food chains Birds Eye and Iceland have launched a new social media drive to encourage Brits to tuck in and use up their reserve meals.
Mysterious Girl singer-turned-reality TV star Peter has signed up as one of the public faces of the campaign, and he tells fans they can bid for the chance to win $75 of Iceland vouchers by joining in and taking a ‘freezie’ – a fun ‘selfie’ photo in front of their open freezer.
He says, “The new social media campaign that Iceland and Birds Eye have launched goes to show we really do overlook what’s in our freezers, with the average person keeping £50 worth of frozen food in there. My freezer is always full to the brim with frozen food, so I had to get involved in their Freezie campaign and take a selfie in front of my freezer. This week, 50 people can win £50 worth of Iceland vouchers every day… it’s freezy money!”
