‘Portlandia’ Renewed for Two More Seasons: Break Out the Bowties!

Portlandia fans, boy do we have amazing news for you! IFC is renewing the praised sketch satire show for two more seasons. The addictive cult comedy, which first hit the air in January 2011, stars Saturday Night Live veteran Fred Armisen alongside Carrie Brownstein, who are also the creators and co-writers of the series. The hilarious Lorne Michaels-produced show will premiere its 10-episode-long fourth season in 2014 and its fifth in 2015.

Jennifer Caserta, president and general manager of IFC, rejoiced over the renewal of the Emmy-nominated series in a statement, saying “Portlandia has celebrated sustainable local agriculture, underemployment, avian crafting, gender politics, intense bicycle messengers and so much more.”

Under the direction of Jonathan Krisel, the series mocks the wackiness of the Portland area and its zany inhabitants (which reels in a bucket load of insanely awesome comedic gold guest stars).
