It happens every year.

Thanksgiving is done with, the trees are up and decorated, and kids await Santa’s visit. It’s time to watch a Christmas classic. A Christmas Story, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, It’s A Wonderful Life, Love Actually, and Die Hard.

You may be saying “one of those isn’t like the other” and “Die Hard isn’t a Christmas movie”. Well, you’d be wrong. One of the best action movies of all time (best movie if you ask Jake Peralta of Brooklyn Nine-Nine) is officially a Christmas movie thanks to the trailer just released by Fox. Even if you’re Bruce Willis and on your Comedy Central Roast you say it’s not a Christmas movie you’d be wrong.

If you’ve never seen the movie, HOW DARE YOU. You have my permission to stop what you’re doing and go watch it.

‘Twas the night before Christmas, at Nakatomi Plaza,
The office party was festive, but soon interrupted by drama.
Hans Gruber and his men, had forced their way in,
And taken everyone hostage, trapping them within.
But how could they know, there was a cop up above,
John McClane had arrived, to win back his wife’s love.
He would take them all out, winning everyone’s praise,
Welcoming Christmas Day, with his favorite catchphrase.
YIPPEE KI YAY!

Let’s end this debate, and watch Die Hard on Christmas if you want to.

Die Hard is available for its 30th anniversary now on 4K.
