Pulp Fiction actor Joseph Pilato dead at 70

Joseph Pilato, who starred in movies Pulp Fiction and Day of the Dead, has died aged 70.
Actor Marty Schiff, a friend of the late star, confirmed the news in a post on Facebook, revealing that the actor died in his sleep on Sunday night (24Mar19), but the cause of death is currently unknown.
Schiff posted: “It is with great sadness that I inform you that actor and old friend Joseph ‘Joe’ Pilato passed away quietly in his sleep last night. Rest in Peace, Joe.”
Pilato, who originally studied law at university before pursuing an acting career was best known for playing the villain Captain Rhodes in George A. Romero’s 1985 cult classic Day of the Dead. And in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film Pulp Fiction, he appeared as a Dean Martin lookalike.
He also had roles in Alienator, Empire of the Dark, The Evil Inside Me, The Demolitionist, Fatal Passion, Wishmaster and The Ghouls.
His final acting credit was four years ago, for Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D, in which he appeared as Harry Cooper.
