Ranking All of the Planets from ‘Star Wars’

1
20. Saleucami
20. Saleucami
20th Century Fox Film
Saleucami is a mostly arid world scattered with a few life-sustaining oases. This planet served as a stronghold for the confederacy of independent systems during the Clone Wars. Historical significance aside, it sucks.
2
19. Mygeeto
19. Mygeeto
20th Century Fox Film
A mostly frozen planet, Mygeeto is the site of a fierce battle during the Clone Wars. Avoid at all costs.
3
18. Yavin
18. Yavin
20th Century Fox Film
This large orange planet isn't nearly as important to the Star Wars canon as its moon Yavin 4, but it does offer a nice backdrop to the destruction of the Death Star.

17. Geonosis
17. Geonosis
20th Century Fox Film
This desert world was the site of the first battle of the Clone Wars. The climactic battle at the end of Attack of the Clones takes place in a gladiator-type arena. Pass through for a day on your post-college tour, but don't stay longer than that.
5
16. Kamino
16. Kamino
20th Century Fox Film
One of the more unnerving corners of the Star Wars galaxy, Kamino housed the facility used to create the clone troopers used throughout the franchise. Kind of neat for the kitsch factor.
6
15. Felucia
15. Felucia
20th Century Fox Film
Felucia is not prominently featured in the films besides being the site of a "blink and you miss it" death scene of a Jedi in Revenge of the Sith, but the planet is filled with beguiling plant species.

7
14. Endor
14. Endor
20th Century Fox Film
This forest moon is the unlikely location of the Empire’s final defeat at the hands of the Ewoks. Don't let their appearances and penchant for dance parties fool you: the locals are not too keen on tourists.
8
13. Cato Neimoidia
13. Cato Neimoidia
20th Century Fox Film
If you like intricately designed bridge cities where whole settlements are nestled on foundations that hang between large rock structures, this is the vacation spot for you! Just don't plan on staying here long-term. A heavy wind could do your whole family in.
9
12. Yavin 4
12. Yavin 4
20th Century Fox Film
A lowly moon of the planet Yavin, Yavin 4 is a dense jungle world that houses the rebel base from A New Hope. A pretty great spot for safari trips and launching attacks against the Death Star.

10
11. Utapau
11. Utapau
20th Century Fox Film
This planet gets a decent spot on the countdown just because of how resourceful its citizens are. Utapau is basically one big sinkhole with settlements nestled into the crevices.
11
10. Alderaan
10. Alderaan
20th Century Fox Film
Alderaan was the original home of Princess Leia and was one of the most well-developed and pretty planets in the galaxy... until it was blown to chunks by the Empire. But they were still very pretty chunks! With great shopping.
12
9. Naboo
9. Naboo
20th Century Fox Film
Dotted with beautiful pseudo-European architecture and verdant green swamps, this planet gave us plenty of eye candy in The Phantom Menace, but gets docked a few points for introducing the world to Jar Jar Binks.

8. Coruscant
8. Coruscant
20th Century Fox Film
The de facto center of the Star Wars galaxy, Coruscant is the home of the Jedi order and consists of a single massive city that stretches across the entire surface of the planet. Lucas' answer to New York.
14
7. Kashyyyk
7. Kashyyyk
20th Century Fox Film
Not only is Kashyyyk the home planet of the Wookiees, but it’s also a planet filled with tree house settlements. It’s like every nine-year-old’s misguided Star Wars fan-fiction rolled into one awesome planet.
15
6. Dagobah
6. Dagobah
20th Century Fox Film
This ball of mud and muck became one of the franchise's most important locations. It is not only the home of master Yoda, but the site where Luke began his Jedi transcendence. The Star Wars franchise doesn't get much better than Yoda lifting an X-Wing from a murky Dagobah swamp.

5. Mustafar
5. Mustafar
20th Century Fox Film
If you’re going to have a climatic end-of-movie battle, a planet made up entirely of erupting volcanoes seems especially apt. Mustafar was the sight of Obi-wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker's near death battle that left Anakin horribly disfigured, and led to his transformation into the classic depiction of Darth Vader. Plus, it's the galaxy's leading honeymoon spot.
17
4. Tatooine
4. Tatooine
20th Century Fox Film
Beset by two blistering suns, this backwater desert planet was the birthplace of Anakin Skywalker and the childhood home of his son Luke Skywalker. This is hallowed grounds for the franchise, and is pretty much the series' version of Jerusalem.
18
3. Hoth
3. Hoth
20th Century Fox Film
This galactic tundra was home to the series most impressive battle sequences, and helped introduce the world to iconic Star Wars touchstones like sleeping in the inside of Tauntauns, deadly Wampas, and AT-ATs. On top of that, it is an average of three degrees warmer than Boston during the winter.

2. The Death Star
2. The Death Star
20th Century Fox Film
There are few images as recognizable and iconic to Star Wars as the Death Star. This floating unit served as the Empire's greatest weapon against the rebels. Before a couple of pesky rebels blew it to bits, the Empire was also planning to install a theme park.
20
1. Cloud City
1. Cloud City
20th Century Fox Film
At the end of the day, there’s just nothing cooler than an entire city reaching into the upper atmosphere and kissing the clouds. Cloud City, or Bespin, is easily the sweetest location in all of Star Wars. If its fearless, sky-scrapping design wasn’t enough, its slick Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian helps to put it on the top of the list. Colt 45 malt liquors for everyone!
