‘Rush': Watch Chris Hemsworth Talk About How James Hunt Slept With 5,000 Women

You can practically smell the petrol when watching Rush, Ron Howard‘s new Formula 1 racing film. Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl star as real-life rivals — and racing legends — James Hunt and Niki Lauda. In two new video interviews they open up to us about how they channeled these larger than life personalities. Hunt, a “rock star on wheels,” was particularly notorious as a ladies man, and in researching the role Hemsworth discovered some pretty wild tales of debauchery including what may be the official tally of his conquests. Brühl met with Lauda in advance of shooting and had to carefully tiptoe around the former racer, who’s famously frank. In fact, Lauda told Brühl just to bring hand luggage with him when visiting his home in Vienna, in case they didn’t get along. Check out the videos above and below.

Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Lauda (Daniel Brühl) have a press conference and Hunt is more nervous than he seems to the press.
