Oscar winner Russell Crowe is reportedly set to appear in the remake of 1930s classic The Three Stooges.
Filmmakers Peter and Bobby Farrelly are bringing Curly, Moe and Larry back to the big screen–and are hoping to cast the Gladiator star in the role of Moe.
Speaking at the London premiere of his new movie The Heartbreak Kid, Bobby Farrelly revealed, “We’d love to have Russell Crowe play Moe.
“We need a powerful actor with huge screen presence. It’s either got to be Russell or Benicio Del Toro.”
Meanwhile, Dumb and Dumber star Jeff Daniels is being considered to play fellow Stooge Larry.
Farrelly added, “We’ve written the script and we’re ready to roll–it’s just a case of waiting for the green light from producers. It’s been a tricky one to get made… but I’m confident it will… We’re passionate about it.”
