John Krasinski has come a long way from Jim Halpert Dunder Mifflin and The Office.
Krasinski stars and directs in Sony Pictures Classic’s newest film ‘The Hollars’. John Hollar (John Krasinski) is an artist in New York City but when his mother Sally (Margo Martindale) falls ill and needs brain surgery, he has to go back to his Middle America hometown with his girlfriend.
Returning home can be awful. John finds out that your parents don’t take as much care of themselves as you thought they would. John’s brother Ron (Sharlto Copley) was fired by their dad Don (Richard Jenkins), John’s Mom’s nurse (Charlie Day) is married to the love of his old life Gwen (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). John has a pregnant girlfriend Rebecca (Anna Kendrick) who he doesn’t know if he’ll ever marry. Brother Ron’s ex0wife is dating again in Rev Dan (Josh Groban).
Things are miserable and that’s why if you leave, never come back (I’m sure the morale of the story will be better and more realistic than that). The Hollars comes out on August 26, 2016.
