‘The Room’ was made in 2003 and is arguably one of the worst films ever made.
It’s become its own meme over the years, and the film is so bad it’s good. It’s one of my favorite films to show people that have never seen it. Years later a book came out that gave us a behind the scenes look into the making of the film called “The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made” and by Greg Sestero. Now we have a film, based on the book about the worst movie ever made.
It’s kind of easy to make a film just bashing the original work, but the thing that looks special about ‘The Disaster Artist’ is that it doesn’t do that. Tommy Wiseau (James Franco, who also directed the film) and his acting partner Greg (Dave Franco). They want to make a film and Wiseau had the money so he funded his vision and gave us film history. The film is a story of trying to make it, and anyone can appreciate that. The movie is getting praised by critics with a 96% certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and there is Oscar Buzz in the air.
‘The Room’ can be purchased at Tommy’s website, complete with a boxers package (I wish I was kidding) and ‘The Disaster Artist’ is in theaters Friday, December 1, 2017.
