See Wahlberg In Boston Marathon Bombing Movie ‘Patriots Day’ Trailer

Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg movies have something special going on.

In 2013 Berg directed Wahlberg in Lone Survivor and earlier this year they teamed up again in the hit Deepwater Horizon. Now releasing in late 2016, the two work together again for ‘Patriots Day’.

On April 15, 2013, runners ran in one of the United States biggest and most well-known marathons, the Boston Marathon. Sgt. Tommy Saunders (Wahlberg) dawned his bright neon vest to work it like it was going to be just another day. Of course, terrorists decided to ruin it and set a bomb off at the end of the race. This film follows Saunders as well as Sgt. Jeffrey Puglies (J.K. Simmons), Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman) FBI SAC Ricard DesLauriers (Kevin Bacon) and more before, during the catastrophe, and the city-wide manhunt for the terrorists.

If that star power and incredible true story aren’t enough for you to be interested in the film, the score is done by Nine Inch Nails frontman and Oscar Award winning composer Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Patriots Day releases December 21, 2016.
