Amy Adams, Steve McQueen, and Boots Riley were honored at the SFFILM Awards Night yesterday evening at the Palace of Fine Arts Exhibition Center in San Francisco. The annual fundraising event seeks to help “increase the number of Bay Area youth served by film programs that promote media literacy and inspire meaningful social dialogue, create new opportunities for filmmakers to connect with students in and out of the classroom, and expand the organization’s family-oriented public programming.” Amy Adams received the Peter J. Owens Award for Acting, Steve McQueen received the Irving M. Levin Award for Film Direction, and Boots Riley received the Kanbar Award for Storytelling.
