If Shia LaBeouf hasn’t made it plain for you yet, he’s about to: nudity… he loves it. So much so that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, he’s in talks to star alongside Charlotte Gainsbourg in director Lars von Trier‘s ambitious erotic drama Nymphomaniac.
That’s right, you didn’t misread that last bit: erotica. It seems as though E.L. James and her legion of Fifty Shades fans aren’t the only one looking forward to an erotic cinematic experience. Never one to shy away from controversy and general shock-and-awe (remember those pesky Nazi comments?), von Trier is taking things a step further with this project, by splitting the movie into two films: one of which will be a softer version (soft-core?), and the other more, well, explicit. So you can get your kicks sized for all your adventurous voyeur needs.
The film stars Gainsbourg as a wife recounting her sexual escapades (from her younger days to 50) to her husband (Stellan Skarsgard). It is not yet clear how big LaBeouf’s role would be, but something tells us it will be fairly steamy and sexual, since he recently explored more erotic material when he starred in a very artsy (and very naked) Sigur Ros video.
We’ve reached out to LaBeouf’s rep for comment, but have yet to hear back.
