Shirley MacLaine Rearranges Filming Schedule in Support of Lindsay Lohan

Oscar winner Shirley MacLaine has given her full support to Lindsay Lohan, assuring the troubled actress she will still have a job on new movie Poor Things when she completes her stint in rehab.

The Georgia Rule star was due to start filming with the veteran actress, along with Rosario Dawson and Olympia Dukakis for the new project, which will be co-produced by MacLaine and Rob Hickman.

But Lohan checked herself into the Promises rehab facility in Malibu, California, on Monday–after she was arrested for driving under the influence over the weekend–throwing the filming schedule into doubt.

And despite the 20-year-old’s highly publicized personal battles, MacLaine and Hickman have vowed to stand by her as she completes a month-long treatment program in rehab.

The producers released a statement yesterday, saying, “In the spirit of helping Lindsay Lohan and her rehabilitation, we have been asked by Lindsay to comply with her wishes to continue working on Poor Things.

“We are trying to rearrange the shooting schedule to facilitate her working at the end of the shoot to coincide with the completion of her rehabilitation. We wish her love and the blending of mind, body and spirit.”
