Sneak Peak: Romance, Intrigue and Ryan Gosling in ‘Ides of March’ Clips

Go against everything you’ve been told by wayfaring soothsayers, and do NOT beware The Ides of March.

George Clooney’s triple-play (he wrote, directed and co-stars in the movie) comes out October 7 and touts a full cast of A-listers: Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti and Evan Rachel Wood—to name a few. We’ve put together the Ides clips we have at our disposal for a quick run-through of what the movie has to offer. Budding love affairs. Political analysis. Ryan Gosling once again looking handsome. Really, the movie has it all.

Ryan Gosling plays a political aide who, despite his good nature and naivete, might be getting too big for his britches. Too big to remember the name of Evan Rachel Wood, even. Although, apparently not too big for her to let it slide. There’s something brewing here.

Don’t forget to check out the trailer for Ides of March and click Gosling’s slick mug a closer look at the actor.

Staff editor Michael Arbeiter’s natural state of being can best be described as “mild panic attack.” His earliest memories of growing up in Queens, New York, involve nighttime conversations with a voice from his bedroom wall (the jury’s still out on what that was all about) and a love for classic television that spawned from the very first time he was allowed to watch “The Munsters.” Attending college at SUNY Binghamton, a 20-year-old Michael learned two things: that he could center his future on this love for TV and movies, and that dragons never actually existed — he was kind of late in the game on that one.
