‘Spider-Man’ Gets a New Webb

(500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb is the new man behind the Spider-Man prequel.

Webb will replace Sam Raimi as the director of the fourth Spider-Man film, which is scheduled for a 2012 release.

The news comes a week after Raimi and actor Tobey Maguire quit the latest installment after making three Spider-Man films together.

Zac Efron is reportedly among the favorites to replace Maguire in Spider-Man 4.

The film will start before the superhero’s alter-ego, Peter Parker, becomes Spider-Man.
