It’s Oscar season and that means those powerhouse films are going to start to be released and ‘The Post’ is no exception.
The film, directed by Steven Spielberg takes place in 1972 and is based on a true story. Kelly Graham (Meryl Streep) is the first female news publisher of The Washington Post so of course, she had a lot to live up to. Kelly and editor Ben Bradlee (Tom Hanks) discovered what is now known as the Pentagon papers. Kelly must risk everything she has to decide if she should release what the paper knows what could be the breakthrough of the year or end her up in jail.
The soundtrack is by John Williams and if those actors aren’t enough, add on the star power of Alison Brie, David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, and more. You had me interested at Steven Spielberg, you had me intrigued at Mery Streep, and I stayed for Tom Hanks.
‘The Post’ will be released limited December 22, 2017, with a wide release January 12, 2018.
