Sunny Hill | 2007
Doctors have only given Gabriel a few months to live. Having been at his grandmother's bedside while she died a slow death, he decides to kill himself before his condition deteriorates. But he does not want to go at it alone. Instead, he looks for people to join him on the journey. On the internet, he finds five people wanting to end their lives for different reasons and all of them preferring not to do it alone. They meet in Berlin and drive towards the Swiss mountains where Gabriel's family owns a house, seemingly perfect for their plan. Gabriel is in charge of the organization and is determined that the group reaches their final goal. However, he underestimates the group psychological dynamics and finds it difficult to keep everyone on track. After two unsuccessful attempts to commit suicide together, the group slowly begins to break apart. But Gabriel is desperate to retain control even if he has to go to extremes to make it happen.
