“The Art of War” Premiere

HOLLYWOOD, August 23, 2000 — The Mann’s Chinese Theater was declared a neutral zone for the star-studded premiere of Wesley Snipes‘ action thriller “The Art of War.”

In “The Art of War,” the action star returns as an American undercover agent who must undercover a military plot to bring down the United Nations. Donald Sutherland (“A Time to Kill”), Michael Biehn (“Aliens”) and newcomer Marie Matiko join Snipes in “The Art of War.”

“It’s a great time. All the great gadgets. Hanging out with all the spies. Telling stories and secrets and getting paid for it at the same time,” said Snipes.

“I think people appreciate the fact that it’s not just an action film, but it’s got some substance to it,” added Snipes.

The popularity of Wesley Snipes goes without mention. The crowd had already started chanting rounds of “Wesley Snipes” by the time knockouts like Oscar De La Hoya and “The Art of War” co-star Matiko made their red carpet rounds.

“I throw him a lot of attitude. I’m definitely no the damsel in distress, although he does save my life two times. But, that’s just a physical thing,” said Matiko.

The film opens Aug. 25.
