The Assassin also scored awards for Best Cinematography, Best Makeup and Costume Design, and Best Sound Effects.
Meanwhile, Chinese director-turned-screen star Feng Xiaogang earned the Best Actor gong for his role as an ageing gangster in Mr. Six, and Zinnia Flower’s Karena Lam walked away as Best Actress, beating competition from the likes of The Assassin’s Shu Qi.
