‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ Heads Up People’s Choice Awards

The Bourne Ultimatum is leading the People’s Choice Awards with three nominations for the Matt Damon action thriller.

The spy caper is up for Favorite Film, Favorite Action Movie and Favorite ‘Threequel,’ while Damon himself has been shortlisted for Favorite Male Action Star. 

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End also scooped multiple nominations, for Favorite Film and Favorite ‘Threequel,’ while the blockbuster’s lead actor, Johnny Depp, will go up against Damon and Live Free or Die Hard‘s Bruce Willis for Favorite Male Action Star.

Depp and Willis are also named in the Best Male Movie category, alongside Denzel Washington

Fantastic Four beauty Jessica Alba heads up the leading-lady awards, with nominations in both the Favorite Female Action Star and Best Female Movie categories.

In the small-screen categories, medical drama House is up for Favorite TV Drama, against CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Law and Order: SVU.

Meanwhile, pop superstar Justin Timberlake was recognized for his endeavors in the music industry–he was nominated for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Hip-Hop Song for his collaboration with Timbaland and Nelly Furtado on “Give It to Me.”

Other nominees include Beyonce KnowlesGwen Stefani and Fergie for Best Female Singer, while Maroon 5, Rascal Flatts and Daughtry are up for the Favorite Group award.

The winners will be voted for by the public and will be announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Jan. 8.
