A Fourth ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ Movie Is Underway

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the WardrobeDisney

The film adaptations of C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia novel series have been moreover quiet participants in the voluminous fantasy franchise game. Releasing three movies between 2005 and 2010, the brand never quiet took off to the degree of modern YA publications. But despite an underperforming third chapter, Narnia held a steady enough fanbase to provoke a return to cinemas three years later: JoBlo.com reports that the C.S. Lewis and Mark Gordon Companies are stepping forward with an adaptation of the author’s book The Silver Chair… the fourth Narnia book of seven published by the writer, the sixth in Harper Collins’ publication order, and the absolute last in the ranking of engaging titles.

The Silver Chair wrangles a number of characters introduced in previous installments of Lewis’ series, and introduces original individuals as well. The story takes place, in the realm of Narnia, decades after The Voyage of Dawn Treader (the third of the released Chronicles of Narnia films), but only a year later in the time of “the real world.” Although the Pevensie children do not play the same focal role in The Silver Chair that they do in the prior stories, we might imagine filmmakers augmenting their presence in order to thicken the thread between the fourth film and the previous three.

There are no names on board as of yet, so it is up to die hard Lewis fans to imagine what form The Silver Chair might take on the big screen.
