The Danish Girl actor Jake Graf engaged

Transgender actor/filmmaker Jake Graf is engaged to his soldier girlfriend.
The Danish Girl star popped the question to Captain Hannah Winterbourne, Britain’s highest-ranking transgender Army member, earlier this month (Sep17) while on vacation in New York, but Jake confesses he almost lost his nerve in the lead up to the proposal, which took place while they were rowing on a lake.
“It was one of the most nerve-wracking things,” he said on U.K. talk show Lorraine. “I’ve never felt nervous in front of her before. It took me a good two hours of rowing around before I plucked up the courage to get down on one knee.”
Jake and Hannah, who joined the British Army as a man before starting to transition to a female in 2013, are now planning to tie the knot next summer (17), and they are already thinking about having a family.
“Surrogacy is probably the way for us,” shared Jake, who started his transition from female to male 10 years ago. “I think we wouldn’t be happy without kids. It’s not going to be that easy for us but we will find a way.”
