‘The Dictator’ Invades Box Office, Doesn’t Conquer

EmmittOn Wednesday, May 16, the anticipated Sacha Baron Cohen comedy The Dictator was released internationally. Hollywood.com Box Office Analyst Paul Dergarabedian has concluded that, as of the morning of Thursday, May 17, The Dictator has earned around $4.2 million.

In its opening week, the film takes second place to the continuing success of The Avengers, which has grossed about $6.4 million since The Dictator‘s release. The Dictator beat out films including Dark Shadows, The Hunger Games and Think Like a Man (which took the third, fourth and fifth spots respectively)
