The Irishman, Renee Zellweger and Joaquin Phoenix lead the major Oscars categories heading into 2020, according to awards show odds site GoldDerby.
America’s top film experts and critics have made their final predictions of 2019 for the upcoming Academy Awards, and The Irishman leads Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Parasite among the Best Picture hopefuls.
Zellweger’s performance as Judy Garland in Judy continues to lead the Best Actress odds, ahead of Charlize Theron and Scarlett Johansson, while the Marriage Story star’s castmate, Adam Driver, is challenging Joker’s Phoenix for the Best Actor win, according to the experts.
Other favorites include The Irishman’s Martin Scorsese (Best Director), Brad Pitt (Best Supporting Actor), Laura Dern (Best Supporting Actress), Marriage Story (Best Original Screenplay), and The Irishman (Best Adapted Screenplay).
The nominations for the 92nd Oscars will be announced on January 13, 2020. The awards ceremony will take place in Hollywood on February 9th.
