“The Ladies Man” Premiere

HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 10, 2000 — The red carpet was rolled out Tuesday night as “The Ladies Man,” the latest “Saturday Night Live” sketch turned feature, premiered at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

Tim Meadows, who originated the character on the variety show, plays a radio personality named Leon Phelps who manages to score with women of all shapes and sizes. When he loses his job, Leon schemes to buy his own radio station by tracking down the wealthy sender of a mysterious love note.

Trouble is, he’s got a lot of past women to sift through, all the while being chased by angry husbands.

Joining Meadows at the premiere were co-stars Karyn Parsons, Billy Dee Williams, Will Ferrell and Tiffani Thiessen as well as the film’s director, Reginald Hudlin.

Michael Richards, David Alan Grier, Elisa Donovan and Loretta Devine were also on hand.

“The Ladies Man” opens Oct. 6.
