‘The Omen’ Breaks Box Office Records

The Omen broke box office records on Tuesday, selling $12.6 million worth of tickets–the biggest Tuesday opening ever for a film.

Tuesday is traditionally one of the slowest movie-going days of the week, but the film’s marketing campaign focused on the satanic implications of the day June 6, 2006 (6-6-6).

The ticket sales narrowly edged out Meet the Fockers, which made only $4,000 less on its opening Tuesday in December 2004.
