First PlaceWill Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg‘s The Other Guys remained in the number one spot on Tuesday, once again bringing in close to $5 million for a cumulative gross of some $45 million since the pic’s debut last Friday.  The Adam McKay comedy was Ferrell’s second biggest opening of his career, and looks to continue its dominance at the box office at least through Friday, when The Expendables and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World get their wide release.

Second Place – Director Christopher Nolan‘s Inception may have finally fallen into second place in our Daily Box Office Rally, but the brainy blockbuster remained a contender Tuesday, adding another $2.6 million to its almost $233 million cumulative gross at the domestic box office.  Even after 3 weeks as America’s number one picture, Inception is holding strong in some 3,418 theaters where plenty of moviegoers have been going back for seconds.

Third Place – 3D Dance pic Step Up 3D held off Despicable Me to keep its 3rd place slot this Tuesday, grossing a respectable $2.2 million domestically.  With the help of its 3D ticket prices and young target demographic, Step Up 3D has now passed the $20 million mark since it opened last Friday.
