Monday Daily Box Office Rally
First Place – This Monday Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg‘s The Other Guys continued to be the pic to beat, taking down almost $5 million more for a cumulative $40.5 million gross since the film’s Friday opening. The Adam McKay comedy was Ferrell’s second biggest opening of his career.
Second Place – Director Christopher Nolan‘s once-unstoppable Inception finally fell to second place with $2.5 million at the Monday box office, ending a stunning 3 week run as America’s top-grossing film for $230.2 million cumulatively.
Third Place – Dance flick Step Up 3D stayed strong this Monday with another $2 million take at the box office after opening this past weekend with a solid $15.8 million – a number bolstered by the obvious draw of 3D and its higher ticket prices.
