The Secret Scripture | 2016
The story features two points-of-view in an exploration of the case of a 100-year-old mental patient. Roseanne McNulty begins work on her autobiography, set in the 1920s, writing about her tragic childhood with her father, Joe Clear, who worked in a cemetery when he was drawn into Ireland's civil war. Flashing forward, Roseanne's psychiatrist is meanwhile investigating Roseanne as she is about to be transferred to a new facility, and discovers that Roseanne's father was not what he seemed. The mysteries multiply when Roseanne reveals that her marriage was annulled because she was charged with being a philanderer and a nymphomaniac, charges that led to a spiral of troubles.
