Oops she did it again. Poor Britney Spears was just being Britney when she threw some Mariah Carey-esque shade at Taylor Swift. Woof.
In a interview with the Kyle And Jackie O Show, Britney Spears played a game of “Who Would You Rather?” How could that possibly go wrong? During the game, the starlet had to pick between random celebs like Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres. In an effort to probably start some drama, Britney was asked to choose between Taylor Swift or Katy Perry, who famously dislike each other to the point where Swift even wrote a song about it.
The question was “Who would you rather sit next to on a 24-hour flight to Sydney: Taylor Swift or Katy Perry?”
Very innocently, Spears admitted that while she thinks both of them are cool, she’d rather sit next to Swift because they’ve never met.
“I don’t know! I don’t know, that’s hard,” said Spears. “They’re both so cool, I don’t know. I’ve briefly met Katy Perry at the Smurfs movie premiere. Maybe because I’ve met Katy Perry I would say Taylor Swift, because I’ve never met her before.”
The only problem here: Spears did meet Swift. Multiple times.

Fans caught the singer’s mistake and pointed out that Britney and T. Swift met at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and posed for a photo. They also met long before Swift was a record-breaking, chart-topping, Grammy-award-winning star. Back then she was just some girl named Taylor Swift, so we forgive Spears for forgetting that one.
Now, those of us who know our pop stars know this is the same stunt Mariah Carey famously pulls every time Jennifer Lopez is mentioned, but we kind of think Spears might have just been a little forgetful. She doesn’t really seem like the type to want to start drama.
