One of the great injustices of Academy Award history is Gary Oldman’s thirty year stint without a nomination. Last year, Oldman starred in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, Tomas Alfredson’s classy espionage thriller, which earned the actor his first ever Oscar nod. Although Oldman did not take an award home this year, he and the movie remain one of the most celebrated and intellectual pieces of cinema to come out of 2011.
