‘Transformers’ Star Rosie Huntington Whiteley Joins ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’

Rosie Huntington-WhiteleyAfter Megan Fox was ousted from the Transformers series for likening director Michael Bay to Hitler (in fairness, she never specified which Hitler), model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was added to the cast of Dark of the Moon as a new love interest for Shia LaBeouf’s hero character. It was the Victoria Secret vet’s first acting gig, and apparently, it was enough to score Huntington-Whiteley a role in the forthcoming reboot of a sci-fi classic: Mad Max: Fury Road.

Huntington-Whiteley’s role has not been identified beyond Deadline’s report that she will be playing one of the movie’s “five featured wife characters.” She is starring alongside recent Hollywood breakout Tom Hardy, who is handling the title role (originated by Mel Gibson), and Charlize Theron.

The model looks to be solidifying a career in big budget franchises. With Hollywood churning out sci-fi blockbusters of the like by the minute, Huntington-Whiteley has a prosperous onscreen future ahead of him.

Staff editor Michael Arbeiter’s natural state of being can best be described as “mild panic attack.” His earliest memories of growing up in Queens, New York, involve nighttime conversations with a voice from his bedroom wall (the jury’s still out on what that was all about) and a love for classic television that spawned from the very first time he was allowed to watch “The Munsters.” Attending college at SUNY Binghamton, a 20-year-old Michael learned two things: that he could center his future on this love for TV and movies, and that dragons never actually existed — he was kind of late in the game on that one.
