The discovery of a dead woman on a beach turns the lives of a couple upside down, forcing them to face problems related to love, jealousy and aging.


Simone and Jean are gradually growing apart, so they take a trip to Ireland for a few weeks to revive their relationship. One day, Jean discovers the body of a dead woman on the beach. He is shaken and as he begins to obsess about the woman, Simone becomes jealous of this total stranger whose ghostly presence is interfering in their relationship. But eventually, the woman becomes so present between them, that Simone and Jean imagine what her life would have been like and even invent one for her.
