UPDATE: It’s official. He’s joining the movie. I’m willing to bet that Thor besting the box office two weeks in a row didn’t hurt his chances. The bastard!
EARLIER:Thor’s Chris Hemsworth is going from superhero god to fairy tale prince. Or he might be at least. He’s currently in talks to co-star along with Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart in Snow White and The Huntsman, one of seventeen billion (true number) Snow White and/or fairy tale movies currently in development. Rupert Sanders is directing and, strangely enough, his commercial work (which includes spots for Sony and the Halo video game franchise which you can see here) shows tremendous potential, making me wonder why he’s directing a movie about Snow White instead of the long rumored Halo adaptation. But whatever, that doesn’t have “brand” recognition. And yes, that was a joke. Aren’t advertising buzz words on the cutting edge of comedy?
Anyway, despite this being his first major feature film with stars like KStew and the dude from Thor, I might be hesitantly hopeful for this movie. Maybe. Let’s not get too crazy here.
