Mark Wahlberg is attached to Prisoners, a spec from new-in-town writer Aaron Guzikowski. The scribe, who just signed with Endeavor, has seen his first two weeks in Hollywood pay off with studios said to be clamoring for rights to the Mystic River-meets-Silence of the Lambs-meets-Se7en thriller.
Endeavor is said to prefer attaching a director before making a studio sale. A director is expected to be attached next week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story centers on a Boston family-man whose 6-year-old daughter and her best friend are kidnapped. He takes matters into his own hands by in turn kidnapping the man he suspects responsible.
Madhouse Entertainment, which manages Guzikowski, is producing.
