The award season is in full effect and one of the hidden gems is definitely ‘Call Me By Your Name’.
The film is Based on the novel by the same name by André Aciman which actually took years to develop with the development starting in 2007. the story is a coming of age one where a 17-year-old boy named Ello (Timothée Chalamet) who lives with his parents when his father invites an American Jewish Graduate student Olver (Armie Hammer) to live with the family. The two slowly hang out when a romance begins in a secret forbidden relationship despite Ello being in a relationship with Mariza (Esther Garrel).
The film is a story of a relationship that many can relate to. The film has done very well on the rewards circuit, with multiple nominations and awards in film festivals, winning the AFI movie of the year, and three Golden Globe nominations including best film – drama, best actor for Timothée Chalamet, and best supporting actor in Armie Hammer.
