Stephen King’s ‘Pet Sematary’ came out in 1983, with the adaptation releasing in 1989, and while back then it terrified many, its kind of dated now.
Much like a cat, Hollywood must revive things that have been dead, and that includes this classic.
The creed family, Louis (Jason Clarke), Rachel (Amy Semetz), and their two children move to Maine after Louis gets a job as a doctor. Their neighbor Jud (John Lithgow) lets them know that there is a pet cemetery in the forest very close to their home. The myth is that kids like to say that the forest brings things back alive. After their family cat Church is killed, it is buried there and comes back (as one of the best-casted cats I’ve ever seen.
My only question now is who’s going to cover the Ramones song?
‘Pet Sematary’ releases April 5, 2019.
