We Know When ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Will Finally Head To Broadway!

This past summer, J.K. Rowling‘s sequel to the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, took London by storm opening at the London’s Palace Theatre, The stunning play revealed what has happened to the Chosen One over the last several decades , and it also introduced us to his youngest son, Albus Severus. But why should the U.K. have all of the fun?

For all of us in the U.S. who could not venture across the pond to see the play in London, we have been anxiously anticipating its debut on Broadway, and it looks like we finally know when the play will make its NYC debut.

Pottermore has just announced that plans are underway for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to make its Broadway debut in the spring of 2018! Broadway’s Lyric Theatre will be completely redesigned, remodeled, and reconfigured from 1,900 seats to approximately 1,500 for the premiere. Apparently, a more intimate setting is needed to a accommodate the feel of the play.

Apparently, J.K. Rowling is super excited about the whole thing as well. She said, “I’m delighted we are one step closer in bringing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to Broadway and very excited by the proposed plans.”
