Wedding Crashers Storms MTV Movie Awards

Matrimony mayhem movie Wedding Crashers was the big winner at last night’s MTV Movie Awards–picking up three prizes, including the coveted best film trophy.

Funnymen Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were lauded for their comic pairing in the film with a best On-screen Team award, while newcomer Isla Fisher was recognized with a Breakthrough Performance honor at the star-studded Los Angeles ceremony. 

Brokeback Mountain heart-throb Jake Gyllenhaal was a double winner when his role in the gay cowboy romance earned him a Best Performance accolade, as well as Best Kiss for his sizzling smooch with Heath Ledger in the epic.

He told fans, “This is a real honor, not just for me and Heath but for all of you, that you picked this movie and this kiss over all the other ones.”

Meanwhile, the show’s host Jessica Alba wowed the Sony Studios audience with mini-movie parodies of blockbustersThe Da Vinci CodeMission: Impossible III and giant ape adventure King Kong.

She later picked up Sexiest Performance for her sultry part in Sin City.

Other winners Included Spike Lee and Jim Carrey, who was awarded the MTV Generation Award for his impressive range and volume of movies.

Presenting the award, Will Ferrell claimed, “This man’s versatility makes Thomas Jefferson look like a big fat idiot.”
