‘Welcome To People’ Adds Michelle Pfeiffer

Michelle PfeifferWell this just keeps getting weirder and weirder. Welcome to People was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci with Kurtzman taking on directing for the first time. These two wrote the Star Trek reboot, Transformers, the new Hawaii Five-O, and Cowboys and Aliens. So basically any big action movie with lasers or aliens or what have you in the past five years.

And what’s this one about? A family drama?! Wait, what? Seriously? And its also starring Chris Pine (the excellent Captain Kirk from Star Trek), Elizabeth Banks (the comedy babe), and Olivia Wilde (the just-plain-hot babe)? Now Michelle Pfeiffer has joined the cast rounding out the ensemble? Pine plays an estranged son who returns from his father’s funeral to sort through his secret life. Banks is his alcoholic sister, Wilde is his girlfriend, and Pfeiffer will be his mother. Well, I guess I can see it. I’m not sure what I’m looking at, but I can see it.
