You know, I bet struggling directors are so jealous of Wes Anderson. They have a fantastic script, they have a wonderful DP, they have all this talent behind the camera, but when it comes to finding good actors, all they get are wannabe divas and delusional fools. Then they hear who Wes Anderson gets to work with and man, just doesn’t seem worth it you know?
Anderson’s latest film, Moon Rise Kingdom, adds Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton, and Frances McDormand to its cast. While the story follows a young couple who run away from their New England town, the actors announced will play citizens of the town who are convinced the couple is missing and go looking for them. Norton is a leader of one of the scouting parties. Willis plays the sheriff who is also having an affair with the missing girl’s mother, played by McDormand. And because Deadline is such a bastion of entertainment journalism, they don’t even mention what Swinton will play. Way to go, guys. Way to go.
Where is Bill Murray in all of this? Of course he’ll be in it. He shall be playing the missing girl’s father and because this is a Wes Anderson film, he’ll have something wrong with himself as well.
Gonna go ahead and get my quirk on for this film.
