Who Would The Other Avengers Support In The Civil War?

Captain America: Civil War is shaping up to be the best hero on hero comic book movie this year (sorry, Batman v Superman). Anthony Mackie has even said that he believes Civil War could be the first superhero movie nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Despite the film’s early buzz , half of The Avengers are going to be missing from the action: Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). However, this hasn’t stopped fans from theorizing about who the two heroes would support.

Both Thor and the Hulk are mostly absent from the Civil War comic book series as well so fans don’t have much to draw on. Thor spends much of his time during the Civil War rebuilding Asgard, however he does show up during the end of the war where he sides with Captain America. Thor is horrified by some of Tony Stark’s actions during the conflict and believes that no god should be bound by mortal laws. On the other hand, the Hulk spends most of the Civil War having been launched into space. In fact The Avengers director Joss Whedon originally wanted to hint that the Hulk traveled to space after the events of Age of Ultron.

During a Buzzfeed Q&A on Tumblr, members of the Civil War cast (including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, and co-director Joe Russo) tried to settle the debate once and for all:
