The Worst Movie-Inspired Action Figures!
The Worst Movie-Inspired Action Figures!
Paramount Pictures; Hasbro
Hoping to relive the adventures of our favorite big screen hero, we scurry to the corner toy store to pick out the action figure modeled to look exactly like him or her. Only... it doesn't. At all. The neck's too long, the torso's too big, the nose is where the mouth should be. While this plastic version of Channing Tatum's G.I. Joe: Retaliation hero isn't too bad, it reminds us of some of the worst movie-inspired action figures we've ever seen.

Jamie Foxx's 'Django Unchained' Action Figure
Jamie Foxx's 'Django Unchained' Action Figure
The Weinstein Company; Neca
Not too long ago, Django Unchained released a line of controversial action figures, depicting its Civil War-era heroes and villains... or, at least, some moderately similar human forms. Is that really supposed to look like Jamie Foxx?

Lucy Lawless' 'Xena: Warrior Princess' Action Figure
Lucy Lawless' 'Xena: Warrior Princess' Action Figure
Universal TV; ToyBiz
Back when Xena ruled the airwaves, Lucy Lawless' fearless hero earned herself an action figure intended to embody her strength, courage, and fortitude. But how can you fit all that in a piece of plastic that doesn't even have torso?

Tom Cruise's 'Mission: Impossible 2' Action Figure
Tom Cruise's 'Mission: Impossible 2' Action Figure
Paramount Pictures; ZombieKev
The second Mission: Impossible movie handed Tom Cruise some secret agent work worthy of a blockbuster franchise. But whereas Cruise in the film plays spy, his jagged-faced, scowling action figure reminds us more of Spy Vs. Spy.
5
Wayne Knight's 'Jurassic Park' Action Figure
Wayne Knight's 'Jurassic Park' Action Figure
Universal Pictures; Kenner Toys
If you didn't already know that this action figure was supposed to be Wayne Knight's cackling Dennis Nedry from Jurassic Park, you'd be hard-pressed to guess. A forgotten Hanna-Barbera character, maybe?

John Leguizamo's 'Super Mario Bros.' Action Figure
John Leguizamo's 'Super Mario Bros.' Action Figure
Buena Vista Pictures; Photobucket
To be honest, John Leguizamo in Super Mario Bros. didn't really remind us of the Luigi we knew from the days of 2D Nintendo. And this action figure doesn't really remind us of the Leguizamo from that 1993 bomb. So, really, can we even call this a Luigi toy, or is it too far gone?

Andrew Lincoln's 'The Walking Dead' Action Figure
Andrew Lincoln's 'The Walking Dead' Action Figure
AMC; McFarlane Toys
We divert our attention to TV for this especially bad case: we're not sure if the designers of this Rick Grimes action figure were leaning more on the aesthetics of the comic book incarnation of the Walking Dead character, but there is no Andrew Lincoln to be found in that face.

Nathan Fillion's 'Firefly' Action Figure
Nathan Fillion's 'Firefly' Action Figure
FOX; Diamond Select
Credit where credit is due: Nathan Fillion, throughout and past his Firefly days, is one strapping gent. But his Mal Reynolds action figure looks like it missed one too many meals...

Tracey Walter's 'Bob the Goon' Action Figure
Tracey Walter's 'Bob the Goon' Action Figure
Warner Bros. Pictures; ToyBiz
First off: who in their right mind has ever said, "You know what action figure I need to my collection? Bob, the lackey goon from Tim Burton's Batman." Second, who in their right mind crafts a human face as a perfect cube?

Bruce Willis' 'Tears of the Sun' Action Figure
Bruce Willis' 'Tears of the Sun' Action Figure
Columbia Pictures; Photobucket
Doubling back to the G.I. Joe: Retaliation cast, we have Bruce Willis and his action figure for Tears of the Sun. Hardly cut from the same cloth, these two. Both bald on top and scruffy by the chin, but only one looks like he made it out of that war unharmed.
