In the days when video games were pixelated and Apple products were edible, the most exciting endeavor in a young child’s life was the release of a new action figure, the big screen character you’d wanted to play with ever since he or she first took down that evil emperor or outran that colossal explosion. You’d run to the toy store in hopes of apprehending the plastic incarnation of your cinematic heroes, finally arriving in an excited sweat to find… it looks nothing like the real person. Ah, the woes of mass production. Damn you, Eli Whitney.

Channing Tatum, one of G.I. Joe: Retaliation‘s well-manufactured military men, has earned a less-than-accurate rendering courtesy of the good people at Hasbro. While Tatum might well be thrilled just to get his own G.I. Joe, fans hoping to capture the onscreen adventures in the comfort of their own bedrooms will be remiss to have invested so much anticipation in the release of a pint-sized “Duke.” But Tatum’s is hardly the worst… what other unfortunate action figures has Hollywood inspired?
