Happy Friday, Hollywooders! And what a happy Friday it is for J. Cole fans.
At midnight on May 7, J. Cole dropped the first track off his upcoming album, The Off-Season.
Called “i n t e r l u d e,” the track was produced by J.Cole himself, plus T-Minus and Tommy Parker.
And daaaaaaaaang it absolutely slaps. I’ve been listening to J. Cole for years and I’m not at all surprised that he would drop as interlude as the first single off his album (and most J. Cole fans are saying the same thing…keep scrolling to see fan reactions).
Listen to the new J.Cole track “i n t e r l u d e” right here:
The short song is just one verse that covers a range of topics, from unbearable summers in the South, to traumatic experiences, and even touching on how rappers Pimp C and Nipsey Hussle died at 33, just like Jesus Christ.
J. Cole shared the track art on his Instagram stories saying “It can go up, it can go down either way I’m prepared,” a play on lyrics in the song’s outro.
It seems like the only way J. Cole can go from here is up.

We barely saw this album coming, but we’re glad it is
On May 4, J. Cole sent a short and sweet tweet after only sending a few tweets in the past 6 months.
Is this thing on

He then proceeds to drop that his new album is coming on May 14, saying it was “years in the making” but otherwise leaving us guessing on the album details:
