New pop music: “Lost Cause” – Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish just dropped another track off her highly anticipated sophomore album Happier Than Ever. “Lost Cause” sees Billie Eilish try out a new style—and let me be the first to say, she absolutely kills it. The singer once again turned to her brother FINNEAS for production, and WOW, it is good.

Billie sings about not continuing her relationship as the partner she is with is not interested in growing as a person. Fans and critics alike will be on the edge of their seats to see how “Lost Cause” fits in with the rest of Happier Than Ever. The album is expected to drop on July 30, 2021.

New pop music: “By Your Side” – Calvin Harris (feat. Tom Grennan)

Legendary producer and DJ Calvin Harris just dropped another summer classic that will surely dominate the airwaves all of summer 2021. Calvin Harris and Tom Grennan teamed up for the first time on “By Your Side,” and they didn’t disappoint.

With sweet lyrics about always being there for your significant other, “By Your Side” is already making its case for becoming song of the summer. The upbeat track sees the DJ return to his EDM roots, and fans are LOVING it.

New country music: Weekends Look a Little Different These Days – Brett Young

Weekends Look a Little Different These Days sees baseball-pitcher-turned-country-star Brett Young tackle some emotional topics on this eight-track album. Brett Young’s newborn daughter Presley served as inspiration for the album’s title track as well as for “Lady.” Meanwhile, overcoming past breakups inspired “Leave Me Alone” and the album’s heartbreaking closer, “You Didn’t.”

New rock music: “Last Train Home” – John Mayer

John Mayer brings back the ‘80s vibe for “Last Train Home.” The new track is the fourth single from the singer’s upcoming eighth album Sob Rock, which is expected to be released on July 16, 2021.

A perfect song for summer, “Last Train Home” is giving us the maximum amount of ‘80s nostalgia while still retaining John Mayer’s signature style!

New rap music: “Late at Night” – Roddy Rich

On this deeply emotional track, Roddy Rich sings about his love and passion for his girl. “Late at Night” also sees Roddy Rich at his most melodic as he effortlessly switches up his flow over this Mustard beat.

One thing is for sure: When it’s late at night, imma be playing “Late at Night.”

New rap music: “Drop” – Yo Gotti (feat. DaBaby)

Yo Gotti has teamed up with certified hitmaker DaBaby on “Drop.” The song came as a surprise when it hit streaming platforms a day early—but hey, we’re not complaining. “Drop” sees the two rappers trading verses over an electronic beat from J. White Did It, the producer behind Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage.”

New rap music: Voice of the Heroes – Lil Baby & Lil Durk

Lil Baby and Lil Durk drop banger after banger every time they team up, so of course Voice of the Heroes is no different! To promote the joint album, the rappers released the project’s lead single “Voice of the Heroes” on Memorial Day, and fans were HYPED.

Now, less than a week later, hip-hop heads can finally check out the album’s incredible features when they stream all 18 tracks. In addition to an album full of Lil Baby and Lil Durk verses, Travis Scott appears on “Hats Off,” Meek Mill shows up on “Still Runnin,” Young Thug stops by for “Up the Side,” and Rod Wave closes the all-star feature list with “Rich Off Pain.”

Not since Drake and Future’s What a Time to Be Alive have we seen two of the industry’s most buzzing rappers release a joint album. This is why Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s Voice of the Heroes is our pick for favorite new music of the week!
