The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights tops Spotify’s most-streamed list

The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights has been named the most-streamed song of 2020 by Spotify.

In what is another black eye for Grammy Awards voters, who completely snubbed the pop star at last week’s (ends November 27, 2020) nominations launch, the Canadian hitmaker’s record-breaking 2020 release has landed in the top spot as the most played track, with almost 1.6 billion streams on the platform.

The Weeknd, real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, also came in second on the list of most-streamed albums globally, behind Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG.
