ABC Axes 'Charlie's Angels' Reboot

Charlie's Angels ABCIt's official: Charlie's Angels is no more. Now we'll have to let this ABC reboot of the beloved television series fall into that chasm of forgotten shows, though if the dialogue taught us anything, that's probably where it belongs. ABC cancelled Charlie's Angels today, with no word on what will replace the action series.

We thought that with all the sex and glamour of Miami nightlife, this series might have enough glitz to stick, but it seems television audiences are smarter than we give them credit for. The series was hovering around 5 million viewers after its debut at about 8 million -- which are good enough ratings for an NBC show, but that doesn't fly on ABC.

The series starred Annie Ilonzeh, Rachael Tayor and Minka Kelly as our Angel trio but couldn't manage to gain a foothold. It now joins The Playboy Club, Free Agents, How to Be A Gentleman and CW's H8R on the list of Fall 2011's fallen series.
