ABC's "GMA" narrows gap with NBC's "Today"

HOLLYWOOD - ABC's Good Morning America

made its best showing in the ratings last week against NBC's the

Today show since 1996. The figures were announced as the Project

for Excellence in Journalism released a study indicating that GMA

has become "the most serious" of the three morning news shows, with

63 percent hard news.
