HOLLYWOOD - Pop star Jessica Simpson has been given a festive movie boost after learning her latest film will be released in cinemas in her native Texas before hitting DVD racks.
The film, Blonde Ambition, was heading for DVD obscurity, but film bosses at Nu Image and Millennium Films have decided to give the movie a limited Christmas run.
Now the movie, in which Simpson stars alongside Luke Wilson, will hit eight Texas cinemas on Dec. 21.
A spokesman for the production company, Millennium Films, says, "The reason we chose Texas is the two stars are from Texas: Jessica Simpson and Luke Wilson."
If the film is a success over Christmas, producers will consider releasing the movie in other states--before the DVD release.
